Anillo Burberry / Burberry ring

Hi everyone.

Hace mucho tiempo (otra vez), en una galaxia muy lejana... bueno, no tan lejana y no una galaxia pero es que no me podía resistir.

A long time ago (again), in a galaxy far, far away... well, not so far away and certainly not a galaxy but I couldn't help.

Después de una temporada complicada que no me ha dejado tiempo para nada por fin tengo ocasión de seguir compartiendo mis creaciones con vosotr@s. Resulta curioso como hay temporadas en las que no podemos parar y luego tenemos un periodo más relajado, espero poder gozar de esta tranquilidad para poder dedicarme a mis trabajitos.

After a really busy period in which I didn't have a single minute I finally got the chance to share my creations with all of you. Funny how sometimes you can't find time for breathing and then calm swaps over you, I hope I can enjoy this new period so I can work on my creations.

El trabajo de hoy también fue un encargo. La petición era un anillo sencillito con el diseño de la conocida firma británica Burberrys. 

Today's piece was also an order. I was asked to make a simple ring with the tartan pattern of the well known British brand Burberry.

Cuando me piden un anillo sencillo y liso (sin relieve) la decisión es fácil, uno tipo marsa. Es una banda simple de peyote, de una o dos cuentas (o incluso tres). Así, resulta fácil adaptarlo en tamaño y diseño. Si buscáis en internet encontraréis muchos diseños sobre este modelo.

Whenever I'm asked for a simple and plain (no relief) ring it's easy to choos, a marsa one. It's a simle band in peyote stitch, one or two drops (maybe even three). So, it's easy to adapt, both in size and design. You can find many ones when you search on the web.

Los esquemas con patrón como este tartán tienen un pequeño inconveniente. Dependiendo del tamaño de la banda el patrón no encaja (otro ejemplo de esta situación es el anillo zigzag). En estos casos suelo recurrir a hacer la parte trasera con la anchura ligeramente redudida y así quien lo usa se asegura de que la "trampa" queda siempre escondida. En cualquier caso, hay que tener precaución de modificar el patrón adecuadamente en esta zona para que el salto en el patrón no sea muy escandaloso. En la foto podéis ver cómo he prolongado el patrón desde ambos lados para darle continuidad.

Patterned schemes like this tartan have a little problem. Depending on the size of the ring the pattern does not fit (zigzag ring is another example). When facing this situation I usually go to making the back part with a slightly reduced width so the user can always hide the "trick". Anyway, it's important to modify the pattern in the right way on this area so the change in the pattern is not too obvious. In the picture above you can observe how I elongated the pattern from both sides so it flows smoothly.

Otra cosa buena de este anillo es que hay posibilidad de combinarlo con bastantes piezas con el mismo patrón. En cuanto las haga os las enseño.

Another advantage of this ring is the option to combine it with different pieces with the same tartan patter. I will show you as soon as I make them.
