Conjunto Galaxy / Galaxy set

Hi everyone.

Crear piezas nuevas de bisutería es un proceso más largo de lo que mucha gente pueda pensar. No me levanto por la mañana y digo "Oye, hoy voy a hacer un collar morado con diseño de ondas adornado con perlas" o algo parecido. Dedico tiempo a buscar inspiración y aprender nuevas técnicas de trabajo. A veces simplemente estoy echando un vistazo a una revista o una página web y un diseño concreto atrae mi atención y mi imaginación.

Creating new jewellery pieces is a longer process than some people may think. I don't wake up in the morning and say "Hey, today I'm making a purple necklace with a wave design adorned with pearls" or so. I spend quite some time looking for inspiration and learning new techniques to work with. Sometimes I'm just browsing through a magazine or a web and a specific design catches my eye and my imagination.

Tan pronto como encontré el esquema para esta cuenta de cuentas me di cuenta de que tenía muchísimas posibilidades. Viendo la forma geométrica era obvio que las diferentes combinaciones de la pieza básica daría como resultado una increible variedad de piezas, tanto para combinarlas en un conjunto como para llevarlas solas.

As soon as I found this beaded bead pattern I knew it had so many posibilities. Seing the geometrical shape it was obvious different combinations of the main piece will return an incredible variety of pieces whether to be combined in a set or to wear alone.

Y estos son mis diseños. Primero, un collar con dos Galaxy beads.

And these are my designs. First, a necklace with two Galaxy beads.

Este es el primer diseño que hice usando esta cuenta. El primero lo hice en color turquesa oscuro pero ahora me habían pedido un conjunto en rojo brillante para llevarlo con un traje negro. Combiné las Galaxy beads con rondeles distribuidos a lo largo de dos cadenas. Aunque no puede verse en la foto lleva un cierre de tipo mosquetón. La pieza completa es algo más larga de 100cm, tal y como pidió la usuaria. Otra cosa que encuentro realmente interesante es el hecho de que estas cuentas sean tan ligera, ya que están huecas.

This is the first design I made using this bead. The first one was made in teal colour but now I was asked to make a set in bright red to use it with a black outfit. I combined the Galaxy beads with some rondelles distributed along the two chains. Even if it cannot be seen in the picture it has a lobster claw clasp. The whole piece is a bit longer than 100 cm, as the user asked. Something else I find really interesting is the fact that these beads are so light since they are empty beads.

Con dos de las piezas básicas de la cuenta grande hice los pendientes.

With just two of the basic pieces for the big bead I made the earrings. 

Mi amiga me pidió que fueran colgantes así que se los hice así. Elegí el mismo estilo que para el collar, en una versión simplificada.

She asked for some dangles so she got them! I went for the same style as the necklace, only in a simplified version.

Mientras estaba combinando las distintas partes del conjunto otra imagn me vino a la mente. No me habían pedido éste pero aún así apareció.

And while I was combining the different parts of the set another image came to my mind. I was not asked to do this one but still it just came up.

Es un lariat muuuuuuy ligero y sencillo. Solo una fina cadenita dorada y dos componentes. Este me lo quedé para mí ;)

It is a veeeeery light and plain lariat. Just a thin golden chain and two components. This one I kept for myself ;)

Como podéis ver hay infinitas posibilidades para combinar los distintos elementos. Ya tengo tres pulseras, dos o tres collares, un anillo y un par de pendientes a la espera de encontrar tiempo para montarlos. Ya os los enseñaré cuando estén listos. As you can see there are endless options to combine the different elements. I already have three bracelets, two or three necklaces, a ring and a pair of earrings waiting to find the time to make them. I will show you as soon as they're ready.
